Pet owners who have relied on Revolution for Dogs to protect their pets from parasites will need to make a switch. Revolution for Dogs, manufactured by Zoetis, has been discontinued, leaving a gap in the market that Neovela (Generic Revolution) for dogs is now stepping in to fill.
Neovela is the generic equivalent of Revolution, offering the same active ingredient and the same broad spectrum of protection at a more affordable price point. Its active constituent is selamectin at 120mg/mL, identical to the brand name Revolution, which means dog owners can expect the same level of efficacy they have come to trust.
Like Revolution, Neovela is a convenient, monthly spot-on treatment for the prevention and control of heartworm, fleas, roundworms and hookworms. It also protects from ear mites, biting lice, and flea allergy dermatitis, and kills adult fleas, flea eggs, and flea larvae. The product becomes waterproof two hours after application, so swimming or bathing will not wash away its protective effects.
Administration is exactly the same as Revolution. One vial is used per month, applied directly to the skin on the back of the neck. It should not be applied to broken skin, and the application site should be left undisturbed until dry.
Neovela is suitable for puppies from six weeks of age and comes in weight-appropriate dosage ranges, mirroring the sizing options previously available with Revolution. This makes the transition simple for owners who already know which Revolution pack suited their dog.
With Revolution for Dogs no longer in production, Neovela offers continuity of care without compromise. Same active ingredient, same coverage, same monthly routine. Please note that Revolution for cats is still in production with no menition of being discontinued. However, you can also find Neovela (Generic Revolution) for cats available now.
